What is a virtual race?
A virtual race is a race offered online. Participants walk or run
whenever they want, wherever they want, during the time frame requested
by the race organizer. Athletes can do their race outside on roads, on a track, on a bike path etc., or inside on a treadmill. Race participants self-report their race
finishing time and distance.
What do I get for my registration fee?
1. You get the greatest, most awesome race swag box mailed to you. It's so full of swag that it's SWAGTASTIC!
2. You're supporting an amazing nonprofit that makes a difference in the lives of those who may not be able to race with you, but are often in the race for their own lives.3. New for 2015- instead of doing two rounds of mailings (one being the swag boxes and the second being the raffle prizes), we will randomly put our raffle prizes in the swag boxes. This means more money goes to the cause!
Is there a medal? Is there a shirt?
The focus of our virtual race is the swag. There are no shirts or medals.
Who can participate?
Our virtual race is open to residents of the United States. Participants need to be over the age of 18 to receive the samples.
Are there awards?
Because times are self-reported and cannot be verified, there are no awards.
What if I just want to make a donation and I don't want the swag box. Can I do that?
Absolutely! When you register for the race, you can opt not to receive the swag box.
If I can't run/walk the race I registered for, can I pass my registration on to someone else?
Sorry, no. Registrations are not transferable.
Can I transfer from one race category (5K, 10K, half marathon) to another?
Sure! You can transfer your category online through Active.com. There is no cost to change races. You can also just change your distance (up or down) when completing your virtual race.
Can you send my swag box to someone else?
Sorry, no. We must send the swag box to the mailing address you entered while registering.
I am going to be away/on vacation when you will send out the swag box. Can you hold/delay it for me?
Yes! If you will be away during the week that we're sending out the boxes, you can email us at firstname.lastname@example.org and we'll hold the box until you tell us you're back. On overage, US Priority Mail takes three business days.
My swag box never arrived. What do I do?
We are shipping all boxes out with delivery confirmation. We will email the tracking number to you when it ships so you can track it. We regret that we will not be able to replace any boxes lost or damaged in transit if the race has sold out, as all items inside the box are donations.
